Add a blog

  1. Click edit on the blog entry area of the website and choose Edit Mode in preview option.
  2. Scroll down to the content area and click on Add New above it
  3. Your page should now look like it would if you were to add any other page.

Note: Adding a summary for a blog post will enable another text edit area. Use this section to add an attention-grabbing couple of sentences or paragraph. Adding too much text in this area will cause the reader to continue scrolling past.

  4. Lets now sort out or blog entries, with categories. Go down to the box that will have your categories on the add page.

The categories define what a blog is about or gives visitor an idea of what to expect from your blog posts. Each category is inserted according to what the blog in general is about; it will have subcategories on the topic.
  5. Date Of Display

This determines when your blog is visible to anyone visiting your site.
Automatic: makes your blog post seen by everyone as soon as you have hit the publish button.

Date option: usually to set up multiple blog posts at one time that should be posted weeks or even months apart. This option allows for a specific time on that selected day to the minute. This however only applies to the publish date if the checkbox is checked.

  6. Publishing Schedule
Click publishing schedule down in the bottom panel.

lt will open up the following prompt500

This publishing schedule is better for blog posts that are only supposed to be around for a certain amount time before they vanish. Start publishing has the same functions as the aforementioned only it doesn’t have the specifics of minutes and seconds.

Stop Publishing panel is the same, but rather then being when your blog will be visible to everyone, it is the time that your blog will be taken down from your site. If you want your blog post to stay forever, just leave as never so the blog post will never vanish.

  7. Finally, lets go onto the Page Properties of the blog. The following dialog will show up.
There are only 3 options we should be focusing on here for a blog post.

    Rating selection

This is for people to rate your content, whether it be a normal blog post about your company or a product your selling, this allows users to rate the quality of the content of your blog.

    Comment Posting

Comments are for people to post responses to your blog posts. All blog posts can have them, but they do not have to if you don’t want. All posts need to be approved before you can allow anyone to see them; this is to prevent unwanted or malicious users from posting unwanted comments on your site.

    Allow Anonymous

This is just allowing anyone to post on your site, whether they are members of your site or not. Posts still have to be approved regardless of who posts them however.
